Map below shows the parts of PA that were covered by glaciers. Glacial gold can be found in any of the colored areas in the NW & NE sections of the state. Look for creeks and rivers with bedrock bottoms in the glaciated regions, these will produce the best gold finds. There are also a few hardrock and placer gold deposits in some of the white areas that are not of glacial origin, these are not shown on this map.
