Citations issued by the Indiana DNR for collecting minerals??? Take a look at what is actually removed, 30 pounds of  toxic lead, cadmium and other metal junk.... and a few flakes of gold. Apparently, the DNR thinks that this toxic metal should remain in our waterways!

The Indiana DNR is planning on implementing a new set of arbitrary rules that will make Indiana one of the most restrictive states in the country. I am working with Wayne Mercer (Indiana Central Chapter GPAA President) and others to stave off this proposed rule change. We will be having a special outing/meeting on May 3rd & 4th to discuss in detail the proposed DNR rule change and our plan of action to stop this injustice. All Indiana property owners would be adversely affected by the new rules, not just recreational prospectors. For now, I am encouraging everyone concerned to allow us to handle this situation, we may be able to work out an acceptable alternative with the DNR. If, however, the DNR rules committee does not give us due consideration with regard to any new rules affecting recreational prospecting, then I will post all the info necessary for concerned citizens to take action. Please attend the outing if you would like to know more about what is going on. Send me an email and I will give you the outing details. admin@midwestprospector.com

Check back after May 21st, I will be posting some very important info at that time.
